Applying for a grant for an outdoor warning siren?

Most communities want to have outdoor warning sirens as a layer of communication to warn their citizens of possible dangers but don’t always have the necessary funding.  Fortunately, there are many resources available for communities to apply for assistance.  Today, there are many different grants available that a municipal warning system qualifies as an approved purchase.

If you would like to get an outdoor warning siren for your community, but need grant assistance, check out the grants available on the FEMA website: https://www.fema.gov/grants.

We have communities purchasing sirens with grants issued under the American Rescue Plan Act, ARPA: https://www.congress.gov/bill/117th-congress/house-bill/1319/text.

Some are having success by approaching their local businesses for assistance or have state supported Area Development/Community Foundations. These programs are created specifically to help with financial assistance on projects that will help as many of the citizens as possible which an outdoor warning system certainly applies because it benefits everyone!
